UA Teaching Academy Coffee Talk

Research in the AI Era: What Faculty and Students Need to Know
Friday, Sept. 26 | 9:30-10:30 a.m.
1311 University Hall

AI is fundamentally transforming every stage of the research process. While this offers unprecedented opportunities for discovery, it also creates new challenges around reproducibility, methodology and academic integrity that we must address proactively. Our students already use AI tools throughout their research workflows, but most lack the critical evaluation skills and ethical frameworks to use these tools responsibly. This session will explore practical strategies for integrating AI literacy into research training, establishing new standards for AI-assisted scholarship, and preparing students to be ethical, effective researchers in an AI-augmented world.

Session leader: Dr. Laura McNeill
