Webinar: Transparency in Learning and Teaching (TILT)
National Speaker: Dr. Mary-Ann Winkelmes
Thursday, October 15
Noon – 1 p.m.
TILT is a small, evidence-based adjustment to teaching/learning/advising/planning practices that reduces barriers to inclusion and understanding and heightens students’ recognition of the value of their lexarning. It benefits students’ success by increasing their sense of belonging, confidence, persistence, awareness of skill development and workplace readiness. Dr. Winkelmes has provided hundreds of keynote addresses and invited workshops at colleges, universities, philanthropic institutions and learning organizations in the U.S. and abroad. She has held senior leadership roles in the campus teaching centers at Harvard University, the University of Chicago, the University of Illinois, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and Brandeis University. This highly interactive workshop introduces faculty and student-support personnel to TILT and engages them in discussing examples. Workshop participants will:
- Gain familiarity with the research on TILT and how it works
- Apply the TILT framework to examples provided from TILT research studies
You will receive a calendar invite that includes the Zoom link a few days before the seminar.
