Focusing on Faculty-Student Relational Capacity

Education research has long pointed to the importance of faculty-student relationships as vital to student learning, engagement and success. This session focuses on building relational capacity inside and outside the classroom. We will discuss different strategies for enhancing relational capacity, including the increasingly important role of digital technologies such as video, social media and other tools. Additionally, we will discuss the increasing challenges of building relational capacity, including time, balance, boundaries and shifting student realities.
