Artful Pedagogies Across Disciplines
Tuesday, Nov. 18
12:30–1:30 p.m.
Gorgas Library (Camellia Room)

While traditional pedagogy centers on language through writing or speaking, artful pedagogical practices create opportunities for instructors and students to use multiple modes of expression. Artful pedagogies elevate the spirit of inquiry as a process without a linear path or straightforward destination. Instead, students are challenged to explore, question, reflect and grapple with complex issues through embodied artmaking. The focus of this artmaking is not the product, but about engaging students deeply in artful processes and attending to what is sparked. This session explores how artful pedagogies can be used across disciplines to cultivate student engagement with different types of course content.
